Dane-a-Thon May 7, 2017 ~ Follow up!

After a week of almost non-stop rain, we lucked out by getting a 10° sunny day for our 2017 Dane-a-Thon at our new venue – the Paris Fairgrounds. We’re planning to hold our 2018 event at the same location.  Feedback we’ve been getting tells us that all 304 participants (and 127 dogs) had a great time, enjoying the dog racing, agility, fun/games and the walk which ended up at the pond. A little cool for swimming but a few brave ones ventured into the water and had fun. We thank those who attended, took time to get pledges, donated their time by volunteering and the businesses that donated food and water for the BBQ booth. As always, a big ‘thumbs up’ to the volunteers who organized the event and made it happen. 2017 Dane-a-Thon ~ 1 Sleep to go…

1 Sleep to go Status = GO 1 sleep to go until our Dane-a-Thon. SUNNY but cool forecast for Sunday!! Getting excited yet? We sure are!   Tomorrow will be fun-filled and provide a perfect opportunity to enjoy the day visiting with old friends, meeting new ones and spending time with our wonderful strong, supportive DID Team. Unfortunately, Dr. Greg Hutchison (dog massages) and our nail clipping team had to cancel so these activities will not be available. We’re looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces and new ones tomorrow. We depend on the proceeds from this, our biggest annual fund-raiser, to cover a large portion of our annual vet costs, so come in a spending mood...

2017 Dane-a-Thon ~ 2 Sleeps to go…

2 Sleeps to go Status = GO 2 sleeps to go until our Dane-a-Thon. Regardless of weather, the event will take place as planned. We will be supplying wrist bands to all participants. Participants must wear these to be eligible for food servings at the BBQ booth where regular and veggie burgers, sausages and hot-dogs will be served from noon until we run out of food or 3 pm at the latest.
